Bay Windows

Bay windows are a great way to increase airflow. Bay windows are fully functional.

Unlike other projection window styles, they can easily be opened or closed to increase airflow and ventilation in the home. They can operate due to their design.

Bay windows combine 3 or more window panels, which are set at angels, with the centerpiece being the widest.

Usually, the centerpiece is a stationary picture window, positioned to completely transform your home and offer a vast view outdoors. Yet the other panels- usually casement or double hung windows- include two operating sashes.

Key Points:

  • 3 panel
  • Angled curve
  • Can be operational
  • Efficient ventilation

Bow Windows

Bow windows are not operational. They cannot be opened or closed to allow fresh air into the home. Instead, they act as stationary portals through which sunlight can enter, adding a 3-Dimensional element to your home's exterior.

The bow window design is a combination of 4 to 6 window panels. These are set side by side, and curved to create a rounded appearance. This gives them a wider view than bay windows.

As a result, bow windows have less of a protrusion, leading to a better view of the outdoors. This deeper connection to nature may also decrease the possibilities for increased living space within the home.

Key Points:

  • 4-6 Panels
  • Rounded curve
  • Non-operational
  • Wide, expansive view

Casement Windows

Casement windows swing and open outward. This allows them to create one of the largest possible entryways for fresh air into your home. They are designed to ventilate by having a sash that locks firmly into place, funneling the breeze into your home. Casement windows function by being hinged at the sides of the window frame. These are the only functional windows capable of displaying a full view while closed. These windows are perfect for homeowners who want to maximize their intake of sunlight and fresh air. Casement windows can deepen your home's connection to nature.

Double Hung Windows

Double hung windows slide either upwards or downwards to allow fresh air into your home and feature expansive views with two operational sash glass panes. These windows are one of the most effective ways to ventilate a home. Unlike casement windows, these operate intuitively; there is no cranking. Simply slide the pane you wish to move int the direction you want it to go after unlocking it.

Garden Windows

A garden window protrudes from your home to capture sunlight from every possible angle. As the name suggests, they are often used to display houseplants or a small herb garden, allowing you to grow plants inside your home. Each window is engineered with that functionality in mind: They have a fixed top and front, which capture natural light. They also have two working side windows which work as side vents, allowing for cross ventilation. Whether you are a longtime "green thumb" or just picking up a new hobby, they'll provide ample space for you to build the plants and herbs of your dreams.

Picture Windows

A picture window acts as stationary portal to the outside world. Usually they are fixed windows, meaning they don't have any moveable parts and cannot be closed or opened. Their decorative glass panes are often large, wide, and do not have any grills. This design gives homeowners an expansive view of their surroundings, framing the world beyond their windows, leaving homeowners the ability to enjoy them for years to come.

Sliding/Glider Windows

Sliding windows glide horizontally along the window frame to welcome fresh air into your home. Also referred to as Glider windows, they are among the easiest windows to operate. Their clean, discrete design allows you to brighten any room, even where space is limited. Each window features one or more operating sashes that slide. They also feature stationary sashes, and are available in a wide variety of materials. This is a popular window style for kitchens, bathrooms and other active living spaces.

Vinyl Windows

Vinyl windows are affordable, energy- efficient and extremely low maintenance. Unlike wood products, they do not absorb moisture during a storm, and they do no warp, rot or distort over time. They can be installed in almost any climate, and they are available in a variety of shapes and sizes. Whether you are building a new construction project or doing a quick window replacement, you can choose vinyl windows and be confident they are the right pick for your project.

Wood Windows

Wood windows are widely celebrated for their beauty, versatility, and traditional appeal. Available in a variety of colors and natural finishes they provide a classic high-end look which can boost your home's curb appeal, and improve its energy efficiency. Wood is naturally stronger than other materials, so it does not dent. Whether you are looking to add a timeless charm to a new home, or to blend into a historic neighborhood, wooden windows are a perfect option to fill any opening. Every wood window is truly one of a kind: since wood is a naturally occurring resource, wood grains arrive in beautiful, uncontrollable patterns that make each piece distinct. Unlike other building materials, which are manufactured in masse in factories, each piece of custom wood is unique and made to fit your home. Installing wood windows is a great way to add a touch of personalization to you home.
